CHAPTER II — INSTAR (Waxing Moon)
The first hunger is holy. Beneath the curtain of night, the Egg splits—not with violence, but with inevitability. A new creature slides forth: soft-bodied, curious, ravenous for the world. Keepers of old say this stage is blessed not for elegance, but for willingness. To be Instar is to try: awkward, bright, unstoppable.
- 100% beeswax pillar • ~9 oz • burn time ~30–35 hrs
- Scent notes: Sweet Orange • Lemon • Peppermint • Tonka Bean
- Botanicals (on top): Mint (focus) • Dandelion (resilience) • Ginkgo (memory)
- Crystals (on top): Fluorite (organize) • Citrine (expand) • Tiger's Eye (confidence)
Why This Blend Fuels Early Becoming
Mint sharpens focus, Dandelion endures change, and Ginkgo teaches the mind to remember what matters. Fluorite structures chaotic ideas; Citrine brightens self-trust; Tiger’s Eye steadies nerves when courage is needed. The bright citrus + mint awakens instinct and momentum; Tonka binds the senses with quiet sweetness, an altar-warm reminder that becoming can feel safe.
Energetic Purpose
- Momentum (first motion → honest effort)
- Creative spark (play → experimentation)
- Courage to try (permission to be imperfect)
The QR reveals how the old keepers welcomed this stage: the rite of the First Bite—how to name a tiny act, charge it with breath, and release it into motion. For now, hold one truth: done is holy.
Two Questions for Momentum
- What small step would move the story forward today?
- What am I willing to try—even if I might do it imperfectly?
What This Supports
Creative experimentation, brave attempts, micro-routines, first drafts/forms/ideas—the courage to begin again and again.
Moon Timing
Best: Waxing Moon (from New → Full). Return: whenever you feel stuck and need a tiny push.
✦ The First Hunger Is Holy
Instar is the becoming—curious, imperfect, brave. Under a waxing moon, the small creature eats the green world and learns by trying. Growth is not graceful; it is willing.
As the flame climbs, choose one tiny step and let the body move: step → wobble → learn → repeat. Every honest effort is a spell; every bite becomes a wing.
“The caterpillar does not wait to be beautiful before she eats.”
A deeper rite—sigils, spreads, and momentum magic—waits past the veil.

Pillar Care + Safety
- First burn 2–3 hrs to form a wide melt pool.
- Trim wick to ~¼″ before each light. If flame is tall/sooty: snuff, trim, relight.
- Herbs & crystals rest on the surface. If any piece drifts toward flame: snuff, wait 1–2 min, nudge outward with a toothpick or remove to a dish.
- Burn on a heat-safe plate; away from drafts, pets, curtains, and little hands.
- Never leave unattended. Spiritual use is supportive and educational; not a substitute for medical or therapeutic care.
